Big DNA Ltd is developing a patented DNA vaccine development platform based upon the use of bacterial viruses.

The company, launched in May 2007, is a spin-off from the Moredun Research Institute and is based at the Roslin BioCentre, just outside of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK.

John Swinney opens new Big DNA facility for faster production of vaccines

John Swinney MSP, Finance Secretary today Tuesday 12th May, officially opened a new vaccine manufacturing facility at Big DNA, Roslin Biocentre, by Edinburgh (view BBC coverage). This major facility takes a completely new method of making vaccines to its next level, to test a variety of methods that will be used in future to manufacture important new vaccines, which have the potential to save millions of lives during major outbreaks of disease worldwide.

Big DNA appoints new Chief Operating Officer

BigDNA today announced that it has appointed Dr Karen Jervis as Chief Operating Officer. The purpose of this new role, one of several new appointments, is to direct the Company's vaccine development programmes and to implement the commercialisation of the portfolio.
